Barbara Elder

Barbara A. Elder, 79, of Rockford passed away Friday, October 28, 2016, in Nelson-Debes Subacute Complex. Born April 8, 1937, in Viroqua, WI, the daughter of Morris and Irene (Olson) Johnson. Married Gerald Blaine Elder on July 2, 1955, in Viroqua. Employed as an office manager at Arntzen Steel for 40 years. She was an avid golfer, bowler and dart player up until her unfortunate accident 13 years ago. She was able to enjoy her life by traveling, dining out and going to casinos with the care and help of her dear friend, Eunice. Her strong will, positive attitude, sense of humor and great love for her family was known by all who knew her. Survivors include her sons, Ted (Beth) and Gary Elder; granddaughters, Amber (Matt) Logdon and Kristin Hult; great-grandchildren, Blaine and Alivia; brothers, Dale and Bobbie (Shirley) Johnson; sister-in-law, Lenore Heyer; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents and beloved husband.

Private graveside services will be held at Willwood Burial Park. Arrangements by Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park.
