Alverta “Verdi” J. Habben, 86, of Rockford passed away Wednesday, March 31, 2021, in River Bluff Nursing Home.  Born January 7, 1935, in Tampico, the daughter of Chester R. and Alpha L. (Johnson) Wolber.  Married Arnold G. Habben on March 23, 1958, in Rock Falls.  Employed by Clinton Electronics.  Verdi enjoyed fishing, crafting, playing bingo and sewing.  Survivors include her daughter, Paula Kay (Craig) Purington; son, Dan (Sue) Habben; grandchildren, Zachary (Jamie) Purington, Raven (David) Cooter, and Lauren (Jonathan) Sell, Jacob, Mitchell, Mackenzie, Mason, and Madelaine Habben; great-grandchildren, Emmy Lou, Ella, Lilly, Emmett and Cason; sisters, Donna Jean Wallgren and Carol Spears.  Predeceased by her parents; husband; son, Rodney Habben; and sisters, Jenna Lee Kulas, Joyce Sandrock, Lois Richmond, and Barb DeWald.

Graveside service at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 6, 2021, in Oak Knoll Memorial Park, 18268 Pennington Road, Sterling.  Walk through visitation from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday, April 5, 2021, in Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park.  Social distancing and face coverings required.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
