Allen D. Swart, 95, of Rockford, IL, passed away Sunday, August 27, 2023. Born May 23, 1928, in Rockford, the son of Herbert and Byrdena (Lillie) Swart. Graduated from West High School. Veteran, serving in the Naval Reserve. Married Martha J. Gustafson on September 3, 1948, in Rockford. Employed by Ipsen Industries in Cherry Valley, IL, for over 40 years. Member of Forest City Riders Motorcycle Club. Allen enjoyed attending tractor pulls, auctions, fishing, gardening, yardwork, steam threshing shows, and shooting pool. Avid Chicago Bears fan. Survivors include his daughters, Karen (Don) Gallisath of Sunrise Beach, MO, and Mary (Michael) Jones of Byron, IL; grandchildren, Jason (Phyllis) Gallisath, Jeff (Nicole Linley) Gallisath, Joshua (Liz) Jones, triplets, Lindsay Jones, Logan Jones, and Lance (Codie) Jones; great-grandchildren, Taiah Gallisath and Ryker Gallisath; many friends and neighbors. Predeceased by his parents; wife; son, Mark Swart; sister, Florence Webber; brother, Wayne Swart; great-grandson, Liam Burdick. Special thanks to Promedica Hospice, especially Lindsey, and Stephanie, for their love and compassion.
Service at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 31, 2023, at Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park, IL, with visitation from 10 a.m. to service time. Burial in North Burritt Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
