Alan Larson

Alan R. Larson, 92, of Winnebago passed away Friday, January 12, 2018, in Prairie View Assisted Living. Born January 22, 1925, in Rockford, the son of Richard C. and Alma B. (Wold) Larson.  Graduated from Harlem High School, Class of 1943.  Veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy on the LST’s 502 and 854 #1101 in Europe and the South Pacific.  Retired from Barber-Colman Company.  Survivors include his sons, Kurt (Katrina) Larson of Sweden and Kris (Robin) Larson of Machesney Park; grandchildren, Joshua, Aaron, Karin and Lars Johan; brothers, Bruce Larson of Loves Park and Dennis Larson of Arizona.  Predeceased by his parents; 1st wife, Virginia; 2nd wife, Jean; daughter, Karla; sisters, Beverly and Carol Florence; infant brother, Phillip; and brother, Glenn.

Memorial service at 3 p.m. Tuesday, January 16, in Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park, with visitation from 2 p.m. to service time. In lieu of flowers, memorial to the American Diabetes Association.
